Tulsa Burning
From 1905 - May 31, 1921, Tulsa's Greenwood District was a thriving, affluent Black neighborhood. By the morning of June 1, 1921, it lay in ashes and rubble, having been burned to the ground by a white mob.
Included in this guide are books and materials available at the Phillips Library, as well as online resources and exhibits that provide an in-depth look at the events of the Tulsa Race Massacre, the history of the Greenwood District, and the Black experience in Tulsa and Oklahoma.
