Renewals & Fines

You can renew your loans:

Checked-out items will be renewed for 1 month, unless there is a hold on it, it has been recalled, or is needed for Course Reserves.

Fines:

The library at Phillips does not charge patrons for overdue materials. However, if the library requires that materials be returned for any institutional purpose and the patron does not return those materials upon request, the library will charge the patron for the replacement cost of those materials.

Hold Requests

Placing a hold is an easy way to have items from our collection pulled and set aside for you to either view or check-out.

You can place a hold:

Please note that while non-circulating items such as Course Reserves, reference materials, periodicals, and archival material cannot be checked-out, you can place a request to have them set aside for you to view in person.

How will I know when my hold is ready?

We will send you an email letting you know your hold is ready for pick up.

What if I need my holds mailed to me?

If you aren't able to visit us in person, we can mail your holds to you. Let us know when placing your request that you need it mailed and provide us with your mailing address. When you are finished with your item, simply mail it back to the us!

How long will it take to fill my request?

While we usually have a very quick turnaround time, please allow 1-2 business days for us to fill your request. If you need it mailed to you, please allow at least a week for Phillips Library materials to arrive in your mailbox.

What if the book I requested is already checked-out or unavailable?

If the item is already checked out or unavailable, we will email you about requesting it through InterLibrary Loan

Scan Requests

If you need a copy of an article or book chapter or even a few pages from a book, we will scan and email it to you. You can submit scan requests either by using the Hold or Scan Request Form in the catalog or by emailing the us at ptslibrary@ptstulsa.edu.

Please note that while we try to accommodate all scan requests, we also need to follow copyright and fair use guidelines. If the amount requested from one book is more than one chapter or 10% of the total number of pages, we will ask you to either modify your request or check out the book.

Printing & Copying

Students may copy and scan materials (adhering to the copyright law) on our copier/scanner/printer machine. In order to send print-out requests to the machine students must login into their SSO account on the library's public computers. Otherwise they may send attachments to ptslibrary@ptstulsa.edu and library staff can then print documents on the student's behalf.

Course Reserves

The Library makes available all required and recommended course materials for students to access throughout the semester. Course Reserves items are non-circulating, except for materials with a 7-Day Loan sticker on the cover.

All physical reserves materials are located on the Reserves shelves across from the Library service desk. E-Reserves, such as articles and book chapters, are available in your course in Canvas.

Interlibrary Loan

If the Phillips Library doesn’t have a resource you need, we can borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This service is free for all our Library patrons.

Turnaround Time:

Please note that books and other materials are shipped to us from other libraries, so it can take about 1-2 weeks for us to receive them. When your item has arrived, we'll notify you by email that it is ready to be picked up. The turnaround time for article or book chapter requests is about 1-3 business days and will be emailed to you as a PDF.

Mailing ILLs:

If you do not live locally, we'll mail your loans to you at no charge. Please note that the turnaround time from when we place your request and you receive them is about 2-3 weeks. We will notify you by email with a tracking number once your loans are on their way to you. When you are finished with the items, please mail them back to us, and we will send them back to the lending library.

Scans & Copyright

Please note that while we try to accommodate all scan requests, we also need to follow copyright and fair use guidelines. If the amount requested from one book is more than one chapter or 10% of the total number of pages, we will ask you to either modify your request.
